Global crowd-sourced media platform and live-streaming company, Newzulu, and mobile photo and video crowdsourcing service Scoopshot, have partnered to collect and market citizen generated content and offer untapped revenue opportunities to brands and publishers around the world.

Today's announcement brings together all forms of user generated content (photography, videography, live video streaming and copyrighting), providing more than 800,000 citizen journalists with a platform to capture, syndicate, monetize and market their content to over 7,000 media outlets worldwide. The strategic partnership demonstrates the potential for citizen journalist content to be used by brands and traditional publishers, by making it readily accessible to content editors around the world in real time.

The partnership enables Newzulu to expand its client offering on an integrated basis with Scoopshot products and services, with collaboration between the companies to approach Newzulu's existing news agency partners and clients, on a revenue share basis. Newzulu's partners and clients will also have access to Scoopshot's in-image ad network (IAN), which offers publishers incremental revenue by embedding photos with integrated advertising. Scoopshot will integrate the Newzulu Live crowd-sourced live video streaming and news feed functionalities in the mobile applications of its 600,000 registered contributors.

Petri Rahja, CEO and Founder of Scoopshot commented: "Combining the Scoopshot and Newzulu offerings provides our clients with an end-to-end citizen generated content platform, and our users with a wider reach to market and sell their work. This partnership signifies the increasing demand for user generated content and its potential to be monetized, by both creators and publishers. We expect demand for this type of content to continue to rise and citizen reportage to become common place alongside journalists' content."

The global partnership will focus on the media markets in the USA & Canada, UK, Europe, Australia & New Zealand, Hong Kong, India, Japan and South Africa.
